Schopenhauer on Religion (and morons in general)

«One finds the ordinary man, as a rule, merely trying to carefully prove that the dogmas of the foreign belief do not agree with those of his own; he labours to explain that not only do they not say the same, but certainly do not mean the same thing as his. With that he fancies in his simplicity that he has proved the falsity of the doctrines of the alien belief.» (Religion: A Dialogue)

Por regla general, encontramos al hombre ordinario aplicado únicamente a probar que los dogmas de las creencias extranjeras difieren de los de su propio credo; se esfuerza por explicar que no sólo no dicen lo mismo, sino que tampoco quieren decir lo mismo. Y con ello, en su simpleza, se figura haber demostrado la falsedad de las doctrinas ajenas.
